The 2006 World Cup ended with Italy winning its fourth world cup and Ronaldo becoming the top goalscorer in FIFA history with 15 goals. Their have also been controversial moments that have gone down in FIFA history, among them the 2006 World Cup had the

Another milestone was the 2000th goal in FIFA World Cup History that took place on June 20, 2006 by player
Marcus Allbäck in the Sweden vs. England match (2-2).

EL FINAL!

Italia se coronó campeón Mundial por 4ta. vez en su historia al vencer en penales a Francia 5-3. Francia tuvo que llorar la derrota más la expulsión del capitán Zidane, provocada por el goleador italiano, Materazzi.

Italy crowned itself champion of the 2006 FIFA World Cup for the fourth time in its history after scoring all five penalty shots against France, that only made three in. The French team could only grieve over their defeat after the expulsion of the captain, Zidane, that was provoked by Materazzi.

¡¡GOL RONALDO!!

The Brazilian celebrity scored his 15th World Cup goal in the intense match against Ghana making him the top scorer in World Cup history! Fans in the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund witnessed Ronaldo’s 67th goal in 103 matches with Brazil. Pele scored 95 goals in 114 matches.

La celebridad brasileña anotó su 15 gol en un partido intenso contra Ghana en la Copa Mundial de Alemania siendo el jugador con mas goles anotado en la historia del Mundial. Los espectadores en el Westfalenstadion en Dortmund atestiguaron el 67o gol de Ronaldo de 103 partidos con el equipo de Brasil. Pele anotó 95 goles en 114 partidos.

Italia avanzara a punta de penales

After a much debated penalty shot, Italy classified to play in the quarter round against the Ukrainian team, which needed extra time and a set of penalty shots to win against Switzerland.

Does the Ukraine have what it takes to win against Italy?

Tras la jornada de penales, Italia avanzara a los cuartos de final de la Mundial Alemania 2006, en los que enfrentará a Ucrania que necesito de los tiempos extras y los penales para dejar fuera a Suiza.

The emotion that the public feels when it sees a GOAL of their favorite team is unique, but not like the one of the players. Some jump up and down with happiness and celebrate with dances, some with flags, others take off their shirts to reveal an athletic body or a shirt dedicating the match to their mother, they greet each other with hugs and kisses…. Anything goes with a goal… What is your favorite World Cup moment?

La emoción que siente el público cuando ve un GOLASO de su equipo preferido es única, pero no como la de los deportistas del partido. Algunos brincan de la felicidad y festejan con bailes, con mascaras, con banderas, hasta se quitan la camisa para revelar un cuerpo de atleta o una camisa dedicando el partido a su madre, se saludan se dan besos…. México

What happened to Mexico? Today in a decisive match, The Mexican team classified but lost the match against Portugal. In a thrilling match, with the expulsion of the player Perez in the 61st minute and a penalty shot that did nothing for Bravo and his team, Portugal left ahead with two goals. The Mexican defense tactics have not been working in these last matches. Although they have classified, they must be alert to the circumstance, since on the 24th of June they could play against Argentina if they win against Holland (21 of June 21:00 hrs). They must protect themselves because in the last three World Cups they have not been able to make it past the last of 16th round. Will this be the year that Mexico makes it to the end?

¿Qué le paso a México? Hoy en un partido decisivo, clasifico el equipo mexicano pero perdio el partido contra Portugal. En un partido de telenovela, con la expulsión del jugador Perez a los 61 minutos y un penalty que no dio para nada de Bravo, el deportivo de Portugal salió adelante con dos goles. La defensa de México no ha estado bien en estos últimos partidos. Aunque hayan clasificado, tienen que estar alertos a la circunstancia, ya que el 24 de junio participaran en el último 16, contra Argentina si clasifica y gana el partido con Holand (21 de junio 21:00 hrs). Tiene que protegerse porque en los últimos tres mundiales no han podido clasificar. ¿Será este año en que México ande hasta los finales?

Así dicen los árbitros…

Nine yellow cards were facilitated in the match between Costa Rica and Poland. Of the Costa Rican team; Umana, Marin, Gomez, Badilla, and Gonzalez were flagged, and for the Polish team; Radomski, J. Bak, My Zewlakow, and Baszczynski. The patrimony of the FIFA focuses on playing the game with all of your heart but without any bad feelings for the contender. The referees always get a bad rap for being the judge of the game. But sometimes the referees get a little out of hand, which can obviously be seen in these last games, like that of the U.S.A. against Italy (arbitrated by the Uruguayan Jorge Larrionda), it is easy to see why… Do you think that referees play a huge role in the World Cup matches?

Nueve tarjetas amarillas se facilitaron en el partido entre Costa Rica y Polonia. Del equipo Costarricense; Umana, Marin, Gomez, Badilla, y Gonzalez fueron amonestados, y en el equipo Polaco; Radomski, J. Bak, Mi. Zewlakow, y Baszczynski. El patrimonio de la FIFA se centra en jugar con todo el corazón pero sin remordimientos para el contendiente. Los árbitros siempre tienen la mala fama por ser los jueces del partido. Pero a veces si se les va la mano, en estos últimos partidos, como el de los EEUU contra Italia (arbitrado por el Uruguayo Jorge Larrionda), se puede ver porque… ¿Piensan que los árbitros tienen un papel grande en los partidos de la Mundial?

HINCHAS Estadounidenses!!!

Italy, the “Forza Azurra” suffered the American attacks with the expulsion of DeRossi, and Mastroeni and autogol of Zacardo. The spectators were to the top with passion as the game heated up. From the American team, Pope was expelled with a second yellow card and the referee annulled a goal that Beasley made because of an alleged out of place of McBride. Everything seemed to indicate that the match would lean in favor of the Italian team, but that was not the case. The United States, an admirable team, played an amazing game, standing out as a dynamic team.

Italia, la “Forza Azurra” sufrio los embates estadounidenses con la expulsión de DeRossi, y Mastroeni y el autogol de Zacardo. Los espectadores hervían con pasión ya que el juego se calentaba cada vez más. Del equipo Americano, Pope fue expulsado con su segunda tarjeta amarilla y el arbitro le anulo un gol a Beasley por un supuesto fuera de lugar de McBride. Todo parecía indicar que el partido se inclinaría a favor del equipo Italiano, pero no fue así. Los Estados Unidos jugo un partido admirable, destacándose como un equipo a quien temerle.

Los EEUU, el equipo con mentalidad ganadora!
